The 8th grade softball team continued their winning ways by beating Olentangy Berlin 7 to 3 in some difficult playing conditions. Ashlyn Greathouse had another complete game win from the circle and she was helped by some outstanding defense from Maggie Adams, Josey Durst, and Joslyn Shaver.  Offense was highlighted by a perfectly executed bunt by Chloe Rice that scored an insurance run in the 7th.  The 4-0 Eagles play Olentangy Shanahan Thursday at home.

Great job goes out to the boys tennis team last night on their 4-1 victory over Olentangy. They are now 4-1 for the season. Winning in doubles for the Ealges were Rui Bateman and Dalton Robertson, Vincent and Ronan Fisher, Jacob Anthony and Pierce Campbell, Jesse Rehmert and Gavin Nagra.Good luck against Gahanna.

27-1 Win over Shanahan.  Owen Leffler lead the offense going 4-5 at the plate.  Parker Albright, Anthony Rodriguez, Zavier Buckley each had 5 RBIs.  Cullan Dunson and Jackson haught had 2 hits a piece.  Bentley Collins started and got the win striking out 4 over 2 innings, Jacob McDonough threw 2 innings of relief and Colton Moseley got the save.

Great job goes out to the boys tennis team last night on their 5-0 victory over Dublin Sells. They are now 3-1.  Winning in singles for the Eagles were Caiden Lumby and Evan Valenzuela.  Winning in doubles for the Eagles were Rui Bateman and Vincent Fisher, Jacob Anthony and Dalton Robertson, Ronan Fisher and Pierce Campbell.  Good luck tonight against Olentangy!

7th grade softball had a heartbreaking loss against Westerville Genoa (8-7). It was a highly competitive game with Abby Hershberger, Kori Batt, Lilly Franklin and Zella Crumley each hitting doubles.  7th grade record is now 2-2.

MS Girls Lacrosse Defeats Berlin Bruins 9-2

Girls Lacrosse had an awesome night last night beating Berlin 9-2! The continued hard work paid off as the offense controlled the game play for the majority of the game and the defense prevented the ball from coming close to the goal. Both Katherine Nichols and CeCe Baby did amazing in goal! Come out to support the lacrosse program on Wednesday 4.16 when girls play Shanahan @ 6:45 and the boys play Hilliard Memorial @ 5:30.Let's GO EAGLES!!

MS Boys Lacrosse Victory Over Olentangy Orange 4.14

The boys lax team improved their season record to 4-0-1 with a tough fough 10-5 victory over Orange. Scoring for the Eagles were the usual suspects of Gavin League and Jackson Willms each with 3 goals. Auggie Precht with 2 goals and Peyton Pillion with a goal as well. Maclain Baker scored his first goal of the season, and he absolutely laid the BOOM on an Orange player with a huge hit that led to a turnover and goal for BW. Jalen Jones played a great game, grabbing 9 ground balls and Max Shearer was strong as always in goal, stopping 10 shot attempts. Finally, a big shout out to Preston Layton who made a great defensive call in the second half, thereby stopping Orange's rally attempt.The boys return to action against Hilliard Memorial at HOME tomorrow night at 5:30. Come out and support your EAGLES!

The boys lacrosse team played in the Ohio Middle School Lacrosse tournament this pas weekend. Teams from all over Ohio met to compete and settle it on the field. The Eagles began the day on Saturday with a 9-3 victory over Milford, followed by a fantastic 11-5 win against Rocky River. On Sunday, the team battled Jones Middle School from Upper Arlington. Despite losing the game, the team showed grit and heart. The coaches and parents were very proud of the effort, the teamwork, and the respect that the boys demonstrated throughout the weekend.Congratulations on an impressive and successful season!

17-1 Win over MarysvilleJackson Haught with the win, 4 innings pitched with 6 strikeouts.  Kane Horba and Sander Largent each had 2 hits.  Owen Leffler, Jacob McDonough, Zavier Buckley, Bentley Collins, Parker Albright, Dom Vitale, Cullan Dunson, and Jackson Kolesar each had a hit.  The team finishes the year a perfect 13-0.  224 runs were scored.  19 runs were given up defensively, only 7 of those earned.

8th grade softball beat Genoa MS in a great extra innings game last night in dramatic fashion - 6 to 5. The Jags took a one run lead in the 7th but the Eagles tied it up with an RBI single from Olivia Long. In the 8th, Avery Moravita started off the inning with a double to left and Josey Durst finished the inning off with a walkoff single that scored Avery for the victory.  Maddy Baucke, Maggie Adams, and Olivia had multiple hits and Ashlyn Greathouse pitched a great game from the circle.  Key defensive plays were made by Jenna Cousere, Gabby Delgenio, and Callie Bowman to secure the win.  Great win for the Eagles.

7th grade softball defeated Minerva Park 25-15 in a fantastic season ending win! Lilly Franklin had two great plays at shortstop in the last inning.  Kori Batt hit an in the park home run while Zoey Greenawalt hit a nice shot to center for an out of the park home run.

The boys lax team won again last night, thumping Delaware by a score of 16-1. The offense played a fantastic ball control game, highlighted by patience and grea decision making. Goal Scorers for the Eagles were Peyton with 5, Gavin with 4, Carter with 2, and Maclain, Aidan, Jalen, Auggie and Jackson with 1 goal each. Besides scoring twice, Carter filled out the stats book with 2 ground balls, 1 broken Delaware stick, and 1 huge hit. The face off specialists of Max and Jace were excellent again, winning 96% of face off opportunities. The boys will play again this weekend as they are entered in the OMSSL tournament in Dublin. GO EAGLES!!!

Congratulations to Coach Ryan Balaz and the Big Walnut Boys Tennis Team for winning the OCC Championship and finishing league play with an undefeated record of 6-0. Big Walnut has now claimed the OCC boys tennis title for two consecutive seasons.  OHSAA Tournament play begins next week, and for the first time in school history, our doubles team of Owen Davis and Suhaas Katta will compete together as the number one seed. This marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time, for either boys or girls, that Big Walnut has had a player seeded first at sectionals in Division 1. Congrats on a great season and good luck next week.Go Eagles!

Once again, the boys' lacrosse team won again last night, defeating the Worthington Wolves by a score of 15-1. After a sluggish start, the offense erupted for 9 goals in the 2nd period. Leading scorers for the team were Jackson with 5 goals, Gavin with 3, Peyton and Maclain with 2 each, as well as Auggie, Brady, and Brock Eckelbarger each with 1 goal.For the season, Gavin League now holds the school record with 34 goals scored in one season. Peyton has had a fantastic all around offensive season with 27 goals 26 assists and 37 ground balls recovered. Jackson has scored 25 times this season. Amazing stats on offense! Keep it going Eagles!The boys travel to Berlin Monday May 5 with a 6:00 start.

The boys team won again last night, this time hammering a very over matched Olentangy Berkshire team by 19-0. Amazing performance took place up and down the field, as the Big Walnut offense dominated the possessions, ground balls, and scoreboard. Several  players scored their first goals of the season, including Jalen Jones, Clark Reckner, Jace Leonard and Brady Ruegg who scored twice.The duo of Jace Leonard and Max Osborne combined for a perfect 18 out of 18 on faceoffs, as well as combining for a total of 16 controlled balls. A special shout out to the goalies Max Shearer and Tyler Grannell who each stopped every shot attempt by Berkshire. Tyler also had a fantastic outlet clearing pass that eventually led to another Eagle goal.

The 8th grade softball team split a doubleheader with Teays Valley on Saturday.  The Eagles could not recover from an early Vikings lead in the first game.  Maggie Adams had 3 hits and Joslyn Shaver had a run in the comeback attempt.  The Eagles bats came alive in the second game recording 16 hits.  Avery Moravitz had 3 of those including 2 doubles and Jenna Couser added 3 hits with one being a triple.  Gabby DelGenio used quality at bats and nifty baserunning to contribute to the win.  The Eagles are 7-4 on the season and take on Orange, Berlin, and Pickerington Lakeview this week.

Game 1: 33-2 Win Cullan Dunson threw 3 innings allowing 2 hits and no earned runs, striking out 5.  Kane Horba led the offense going 4-5 with 3 RBIs Owen Leffler had 4 RBIs Jackson Kolesar, Anthony Rodriguez, and Jacob McDonough each had multiple hits.  The team drew 11 walks and collected 17 hits.   Game 2: 15-0 Win Colton Moseley threw 3 innings allowing 0 runs, 1 hit and striking out 4.  Jacob McDonough got the save allowing no runs on no hits.  Parker Albright and Owen Leffler each had 2 hit and 2 RBIs.  Jackson Kolesar, Cullan Dunson, and Zeke Buckley each had a hit.  The team drew 10 walks.
