Big Walnut High School/Middle School
Both boys and girls teams were victorious last night. Results below. BOYS: BW 72 - BERLIN 44GIRLS: BW 66 - BERLIN 53 The jumpers made some noise in their events, with CJ Daniel clearing 5' 0" in high jump to take first place. Other notable high jumpers included Addie Whittington, who earned 2nd place, and Brantley Gesasion , who made tremendous growth in his technique. Meanwhile, in long jump Kellen Giesler popped 18' 1" for first place in his first time competing in the event. And Kosi Linnabary continues to push competition with her jumps, hovering at 13 feet. 7th grade softball unfortunately lost in a tough battle against Gahanna West 8-13. It was a battle at the plate with a home run from Natalee Striefel. Behind the plate, Baylor Brinkerhoff did a great job catching and helping her pitchers. 7th grade softball plays Hilliard Memorial away this Wednesday.

The boys once again dominated their opponent last night, defeating Hilliard Memorial by a scoer of 17-1.The team got off to an incredible start by scoring 9 goals by 7 players in just the 1st quarter. Overall, there were 10 different playersthat socred for the Eagles, highlighted by Rocco Woods getting his 1st goal of the season. Max continued to win every faceoff, making sure to always maintain possession of the ball. On defense, the Eagles were led by Gabe LeVan, Laine Ewald, and Brandt Brinkerhoff. Andy Precht's return from injury to take his place in goal again.

The boys lax team won again, this time taking down Dublin Karrer by a score of 13-2. 6 players combined on the goal scoring, with Brady Isaiah, and Elias leading the way. Maclain Baker and Andy Precht teamed up to play an excellent game in goal. Caiden Evangelista and Laine Ewald also showed a strong effort and contributed to the win.The Eagles next play at ome on Wednesday against a tough Worthington team. Come on out and cheer the Eagles to another victory.

The 8th-grade softball team improved their record to 8-1 overall. They beat Hilliard by scores of 18-5 and 19-7. Kori Batt went 8 for 8 at the plate with 2 doubles, Kaylie Akers hit 3 triples and Zoey Greenawalt had one triple. Jordan Dragon and Gigi Thompson each had a double. Abby Hershberger hit 2 doubles. Zoey Greenawalt went the distance from the mound in both games and recorded 9 strikeouts. The eagles take on Genoa tomorrow at the high school at 5:30.

7th grade softball defeated Hilliard Heritage in both games of the double header - 29-2 and 28-0. Overall, a great day of softball with no errors on the field and triples from Aleena Woodard, Addy Moseley, and Alayna Bussa. Along with a home run from Natalee Striefel. 7th grade softball is back in action away against Gahanna West on Tuesday.

The 8th grade baseball team picked up two more wins of the season over Delaware 9-0 and 8-1. Pitching was lead by Nicholas Thompson dominating the first game and Caleb Crager starting the second game. Top hitters included, Nicholas Thompson, Walter Grube, Carson Millspaugh and Anderson Russell all adding hits and RBIs. Congrats!

The 8th grade softball team defeated Gahanna South by a score of 11-1 last night. Kaylie Akers, Kori Batt, Jordan Dragon and Kayla Lesher all had doubles. Kinsley Mason and Gigi Thompson had 2 singles each. The team combined for 14 hits. Brooklyn Harper got the win in the circle. The team travels to Olentangy Shanahan tonight at 5:30.

The boys lax team did it again, defeating Olentangy Orange Middle by a score of 13-3!Scoring goals for the Eagles included Isaiah Brigee, Brady Ruegg and Brock Eckelbarger with 3 goals apiece, as well as Max Osborne, Zane Bodak, and Aiden Elsey.Rocco Woods played a great 2-way game with good defense and an assist.Other notable performers from the game included Henry Boudinot, Laine Ewald, Carter Royer, and Joe Amato who all contributed to a strong defensive effort. Congratulations to the boys’ and girls’ indoor track and field teams! Saturday, both teams competed at the 5th annual Middle School Indoor State Championship at Muskingum University. The boys’ team scored 55 points to place 2nd. It is the fourth year in a row that the boys have placed top three in the state; winning the meet in 2025.
