SUNBURY, Ohio (Oct. 10, 2025) — The Big Walnut Golden Eagles continued their impressive run with a commanding 37–3 victory over Westerville North on Friday night at Big Walnut Stadium. Behind a balanced offense and a relentless defense, the Eagles improved to 7–1 overall and 4–0 in the OCC, remaining unbeaten in conference play.
Quarterback Eli Stumpf was nearly perfect, completing 8 of 9 passes for 97 yards and three touchdowns, while also adding a rushing score. Stumpf opened the scoring with a 29-yard touchdown pass to Gavin Harrington late in the first quarter, then added a 22-yard strike to Jackson Bowers and a 9-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. He capped off his stellar night with a 4-yard touchdown pass to Owen Pollock in the third quarter.
Junior running back Nolan Buirley powered the ground game with 14 carries for 146 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown that blew the game open just before halftime. Buirley also handled punting duties, booting a 45-yarder on his lone attempt.
The Golden Eagles’ defense stole the show, holding the Warriors to just 87 total yards and forcing multiple three-and-outs. TJ Minor led the defensive front with nine tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 2.5 tackles for loss, while Eli Helton added eight stops. The unit combined for 10 tackles for loss and three sacks, preventing Westerville North from reaching the end zone.
Westerville North’s only points came on a 38-yard field goal by Griffin Wolfe early in the fourth quarter.
