Big Walnut Girls Golf Makes History with First-Ever District Berth

For the first time in school history, the Big Walnut High School girls' golf team has punched its ticket to the district tournament. The Eagles finished second overall at the OHSAA Division I Central District Sectional at Oakhaven Golf Club, posting a team score of 328, trailing only Dublin Jerome’s 301.

Standout performances at the top of the lineup fueled the historic day. Senior Gracyn Alexander and sophomore Charlie Burgess both shot impressive rounds of 73, tying for third overall in the sectional field. Their steady play helped set the tone and kept Big Walnut firmly in contention throughout the day.

Freshman Joslyn Shaver and Stella Reeb provided critical depth, each carding rounds of 91, while senior Addison Dickerson added a 97 to round out the scoring. The balanced team effort secured the Eagles’ runner-up finish and a spot in next week’s district tournament.

Individually, the field was highlighted by Worthington Kilbourne’s Isabella Anderson, who fired a blistering 66 to win medalist honors. But for Big Walnut, the story was about history being made and the program breaking through to a new level.

The Eagles will now turn their attention to the Central District Tournament, where they’ll compete against the region’s best for a chance to qualify for the state championships.
