Coach Ethan Wetzel is a graduate of Big Walnut High School in 2008 and was the quarterback on the Big Walnut 2007 State Championship Football Team. After high school, Coach Wetzel attended Muskingham University and was an All-Conference Linebacker earning a B.A. Degree in English. Coach Wetzel obtained his Masters of Science Degree from Otterbein University in Allied Health and Wellness. At Otterbein, Coach Wetzel was a graduate assistant and led their Strength and Conditioning program. In 2014, Coach Wetzel returned to Muskingum University where he was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for four years as well as Defensive Coordinator for the football team.
While at Muskingum University he was also a professor teaching courses on weight/fitness training and nutrition. Coach Wetzel obtained his certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Coach Wetzel resides in Westerville with his wife Nicole and they are expecting a baby boy this spring.
Coach Wetzel is now in his third year as the Strength and Fitness Coach at Big Walnut High School. We are appreciative of Coach Wetzel’s work with our student-athletes and he is clearly committed to their continuous improvement.
