Jared Kreager and Troy Musser each scored 14 points to help lead the Big Walnut boys basketball team to a 71-56 win over visiting Westerville North on Feb. 18, 2021.
Caleb Conard added 12 points while Jagger Barnett and Garrett Stover added 10 each.
“We moved the well offensively,” said Golden Eagles coach Brett Bartlett. “They started off man-to-man then we moved the ball well against their zone. We shared the basketball and we cut hard.
“We got a little careless toward the end, but overall it was a great job offensively for us. We played good defense and rebounded well enough to get a solid win tonight.”
Big Walnut built a 21-14 advantage after the first quarter and upped the margin to 14 (35-21) at the half. It was 54-40 Golden Eagles entering the final period.
North cut the lead to 11 (62-51) with four minutes remaining, but Big Walnut went back up as much as 18 (71-53) near the end.
The Golden Eagles open the Division I district tournament Feb. 23 when they host Logan.
