Golden Eagles News · Former BW athlete, Jindra, is NCAA All-American


Former Big Walnut Track and Field athlete, Ellie Jindra, now a junior competing for Ashland University tied for 5th in the NCAA Division II Championship. Ellie’s jump of 5′ 6.5″ earned her All-American honor for the second time in 2019. She also placed 6th earlier this year during the Indoor season.

Ellie has also earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors for both the 2018 Outdoor and 2018 Indoor seasons, along with earning the 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic, outdoor, and 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic, indoor honors.

During her senior year for Big Walnut, Ellie, who still comes back to work with Coach Ryder, won the OCC-Capital High Jump, placed 2nd in the Division I District meet, earned 1st team All-District honors, became the Regional champion, and placed 9th in the State. She held the school record at 5′ 7.25″ until 2018.

We are very proud of Ellie, and her accomplishments! Being a two time NCAA All-American is a huge deal! We can’t wait to see what she does her senior year!
