Golden Eagles News · Girls’ Track and Field Taking it to the Next Level!

Yesterday I shared the results of the team’s Indoor State Championship results. I wanted to let everyone know the Indoor season has been eventful for many of our alumni too!

2016 graduate, Ellie Jindra is ranked 3rd (5′ 9.25″) in the nation in NCAA II high jump for Ashland University. She will be competing in the Nationals this weekend at Pittsburgh, Kansas.

2017 graduate, Anna Vrancken is currently ranked 2nd all time in the Denison record books in the weight throw. She finished 6th in the conference in the weight throw, and 9th in the shot put. She has a good chance of qualifying to the Outdoor Division III National Championships in the Hammer Throw and Discus.

2018 graduate, Kaitlin Meade broke two school records for Mt. Vernon Nazarene her freshman year. She broke the school record in the 400m dash and the 500m dash. She helped two relays qualify and place in the Crossroads Indoor Conference Championship. Her 4×800 relay team placed 5th and the Distance Medley placed 6th.

Congratulations to these wonderful athletes. They left huge marks for us when they were part of the team, and we are proud of what they are doing at the next level. Good luck to them and the others who didn’t compete indoor during the outdoor season!
